ASUS OPLAY O!PLAY R1 INSTALL FLASH CUSTOM FIRMWARE ROM UPDATE

HOW TO INSTALL A CUSTOM FIRMWARE OR ROM IN THE ASUS O!PLAY OPLAY R1 MEDIA PLAYER

WHY
Because stock fucking sucks

WARNING
Read all of this

Download any of this (they are the same, the only difference is the second one has a gui during install, the first one is just text like msdos, nothing else)

Optionally you can download this zip i compiled to make things easier (authors are from the moservices forum)
This is the amp r13 image + gui skin vrtd dic 2016 ready to flash without internet

Ok, there are 2 ways to install this: online and offline

Offline:
Download my zip from Google drive above, the setup it is almost the same as the online (but without needing LAN), just keep reading

ONLINE:
-unzip the image from the forum (or my google drive) into a usb flash drive (I use fat32)
-connect the asus oplay to tv hdmi, turn on the tv, unplug power from oplay, connect the usb pendrive
-connect the lan Ethernet with internet (offline does not need this)
-get a clip or something to insert in the small hole next to the usb port in the asus oplay
-insert it into the hole, then while keeping it inserted, plug the power, wait a little and retire the clip, the tv should show the updating firmware, if nothing happens, then try again

This is the official method better explained
1) place install.img on usb stick (alone) and plug it into Oplay
2) press in reset button with small object and disconnect rear power.
3) after about 5 seconds reconnect power and release reset button
4) wait for firmware to load (takes bout 4-5 minutes)

Wait until it finishes, takes like 2 minutes

Then

OFFLINE:
You should not do anything, just wait, it should install the GUI skin theme and restart by itself without doing anything, then it should be ready to use and watch movies

ONLINE:
You should get a menu, then using LAN internet to the player, with the remote you must update the GUI themes skins list, then install one (use direct option in the reload skin menu)

The recommended in the forum is VRTD, it seems to be the most updated and stable but I always used iconbit with good results, the main thing I like about iconbit is zoom, it is the only one, which can do perfect zoom (stretch to tv borders without cutting parts of the image), you know those fucking black bars, well, iconbit zoom can fill the screen without letting anything outside, acryan i kinda remember could do the same, all the other skins sucks at this, they zoom at stupid levels cutting parts of the image

This is important for me, but not for everybody I guess, also some skins autoload subtitles which is nice, but vrtd and iconbit does not.

Using vrtd I can setup a zoom level of 100% horizontal + 125% vertical, to hide the fucking black bars for most movies, but depending on the movie I have to edit this to another level. Annoying but well…, I will give VRTD some time to test it, it seems super nice, stable, fast, and i can zoom nice by setup first on levels

level 1 100%
level 2 100%+120%
level 3 100%+125%

that should be enough to fill the black bars

I don’t care about online features, moservices, etc, but some people do.

Update the services after the install:

To enter the web setup:

-Have the asus oplay turned on, connected to lan and search its IP, go to menus, system, etc.
-Open your pc web browser and type that address, it should open a menu
-Update services and stuff (THE YELLOW ICON)

how to format an ASUS X205 NETBOOK LAPTOP, how to INSTALL WINDOWS 10 on the asus x205

ASUS LAPTOP NETBOOK X205 X205TA

this lap is great for some things and sucks hard on others

30gb internal space fucking sucks very hard
2gb of ram sucks too

but the main issues are how ASUS AND MICROSOFT FUCKED THE SYSTEM AND NEVER RESOLVED THEIR ISSUES

starting from formatting the laptop there are issues, and even after you finish all, there will be issues lol, motherfucker ASUS, thanks a lot for never releasing a bios update or better drivers, and microsoft too for treating this laptops as a tablet just because of the cpu

ok, lets start

you need windows 10, just find it, download the iso, torrent, etc, and get in into a usb flash drive, i use Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.6.3, with this i put windows 10 iso into a partition of a 1tb external hdd WD passport

let me explain, i have a 1tb wd external hdd, i created 2 partitions, 1 of 8gb to put isos and the rest for storage, so in that boot partition i can put isos of windows, linux, etc. you can use a pendrive or flash drive too

you can also use: (some are just for linux)

WinSetupFromUSB-1-7
Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer-en-US
WinToUSB Enterprise 2.6
rufus
unetbootin

ok, then in bios, disable secure boot and all that gay shit, leave all default except that

now the most important thing, you need a USB KEYBOARD AND MOUSE, YES, YOU READ IT WELL, YOU NEED A FUCKING MOUSE AND A KEYBOARD, THANKS YOU VERY FUCKING MUCH ASUS AND MICROSOFT, MOTHERFUCKERS

as soon as the laptop boots the usb flashdrive with windows 10, the laptop keyboard and touchpad will not works, this is lovely, pure genious. so you need a mouse and keyboard (the laptop only has 2 usb port so fuck you, remember you have 1 usb drive connected to install windows lol)

well, for this part you only need a mouse, then later you will need the keyboard for your stupid user name  (gay ass stupid windows bitch)

ok again:

disable secure boot in bios
plug usb mouse
plug usb flashdrive with windows 10 iso booteable
turn on, press esc + f12 like crazy until it boots your flash drive, maybe it is f8, cant remember (motherfuckers laptop makers cant agree with using the same key, fuckers)

boot win10 setup, format your shit ass 30gb drive, install

seems easy right, well no........ you can unplug the mouse, and plug your usb keyboard, microsoft wireless usb works btw

input your user name, bla bla bla, agree to be spyed from microsoft, etc

then here it comes the most annoying part

i just used   win 10 aniversary edition
Windows 10 Pro VL X86 build 14393.187 en-US Sep 2016 {Gen2}

it included wifi, as far as i can remember the older win10 did not had wifi

so in theory you could just connect to wifi and let windows update drivers, but noooooooooooo, thanks a lot ASUS AND MICROSOFT, the stupid laptop will hang at random until you install chipset drivers from ASUS WEBSITE, not really a big problem, i know, fuck annoying as fuck since the laptop will hang out on you when it wants

after that, then windows update should work, and you have keyboard and touchpad working again, but still, windows 10 should update some more drivers

THIS CPU is a fuck nightmare from drivers, it is used in some tablets and this stupid laptop, so there is no a good way to install drivers, since they are all packed into 1, THANKS INTEL, the chipset drivers includes a lot of devices.

now you should be ready to go, try to get the latest gpu drivers from windows update, and everything should be working now, off course WINDOWS 10 IS FUCKING GAY, you need to tweak it a lot, but that is up to you, i use DWS DESTRY WINDOWS SPY to disable a lot of shit and make it better LIKE THE STUPID MOFO WINDOWS DEFENDER ULTRA GAYLORD

so there you go, thanks  a lot motherfuckers from ASUS AND MICROSOFT, for releasing a piece of shit with issues and never fixing them, one of the worst installations ever

what i love about this laptop
-size, weight, battery
-decent performance at least for watching movies in dxva and super basic stuff
-overall looks cools and performs just ok
-key and touchpad are nice

what i hate
-internal space is shit, since windows and office will take almost all, even after tons of tweaking, this is bullshit
- ram 2gb is not enought, 3gb had to be included or better yet 4gb minimum, those 2gb are the mega shit for this lap
- screen angles is shit, but that was to be expected
-format, reinstall windows procedure is fucking shit ass
- sleep issues
- driver updates sucks, they are a mess to find, intel does not provide standalone drivers for gpu
- performance sucks, well this was to be expected too, those quad cores are way too weak, not even for x265 videos, it will lag, even firefox lags, everything lags lol, but well..........
